Michael J. Bovalino
Chief Executive Officer


Michael Bovalino is a proven Chief Executive Officer with a history of delivering profits and cash flows to both publicly traded and private companies.  He has extensive construction, contracting, and regulatory experience and has managed companies at a senior level within the real estate, energy, telecommunications, and consumer products industries.  Mr. Bovalino has had a history of success in creating new markets and companies, creating business plans, developing management teams, gaining market share in highly competitive markets, building effective customer and employee relationships, improving operations, and identifying and integrating acquisitions.  Michael plans to build upon his success by leading Iron Eagle Group to a leading position in the commercial construction and federal contracting industries.

Prior to accepting the CEO position at Iron Eagle Group, Michael was the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Marketing Officer of Medical Acoustics, a medical device and consumer products company. Prior to Medical Acoustics, Michael was the Chief Executive Officer of the Pyramid Management Group, the largest privately held commercial real estate company in the US.  The Company built, owns and manages over 20 shopping centers in the Northeast US, totaling over 26 million square feet and generating over $5 billion in annual sales. While there, Michael led the company to the development and construction of the ThEATerySM concept which helped to revitalize the company’s shopping centers with a combination of restaurants and entertainment, led over $4 billion in financings, and  rebuilt the leasing organization to become one of the strongest and most productive in the country.

Previously Mr. Bovalino was President and Chief Executive Officer of Energetix. During that time, Michael led Energetix and its parent – RGS Energy, a $2.5 billion energy company, to the industry’s best stock return performance over a five year period.  This was due to the successful identification, negotiation, and integration of numerous small to medium sized acquisitions ranging from 10 to 300 employees.  Michael grew this platform from nothing to over $800 million in revenues within six years. The company has been profitable since inception with profit levels increasing by at least 10% each year during Michael’s tenure. He has also held senior management positions at Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation and NYNEX in the roles of Sales, Marketing, Business Development, and Regulatory Affairs.

Mr. Bovalino has served on the boards of Energetix and Griffith Energy, the American Heart Association, and the Empire State Business Alliance. Mr. Bovalino was the Chairman of the Board of the Veteran's Outreach Center in Rochester, New York, the largest non-governmental residential and clinical veteran's facility in the United States. The State University of New York honored Mr. Bovalino by selecting him as a Business Alumni of Distinction and presenting him with the Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award.

Mr. Bovalino holds a Master of Information Technology degree from Polytechnic University, an MBA from Pace University, and a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance from the State University of New York at Fredonia.  He has completed the Advanced Management Program at Columbia University and has a certificate from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in Strategic Analysis.  He has published numerous articles in trade periodicals and the press, enjoys running, fitness, and the outdoors.

Eric Hoffman, CPA
Chief Financial Officer

Eric Hoffman is a dynamic performance driven executive with over 15 years of experience working in publicly traded companies. He has extensive financial and operational experience and has managed companies at a senior level within the construction, pharmaceutical and plastic compounding industries. Eric has had a history of success in creating business plans, improving operations, implementing systems and controls, developing management teams, and integrating acquisitions. Eric plans to utilize his high energy and drive for success to propel Iron Eagle Group forward as a leader in the commercial construction industry.

Previous to Iron Eagle Group, Eric was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Masco Contractor Services, a multi-billion subsidiary of publicly traded Masco Corporation and one of the largest providers of installed products for homebuilders across the United States. While at Masco, Mr. Hoffman successfully identified, acquired, and integrated construction companies ranging in size from $5 to $100 million in sales. Prior to Chief Operating Officer, Eric was the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Masco Contractor Services. While there Eric led a restructuring which resulted in over $150 million in annual savings. As Chief Financial Officer he was responsible for the back office integration and implementation of financial systems and internal controls at the acquired companies.

Prior to Masco Contractor Services, Mr. Hoffman was Vice President and Group Controller for the Southeast Group of Cardinal Health’s Healthcare Supply Chain Services – Pharmaceutical business with sales in excess of $9.5 billion. Eric was awarded the Cardinal Health Excellence in Finance in 2002 for post merger integration and consolidation initiatives related to the Bindley Western Industries acquisition. Previously, Mr. Hoffman was the Vice President of Finance and Technology for PolyOne Distribution, a $500 million thermoplastic distribution subsidiary of publicly traded PolyOne Corporation. In this role Mr. Hoffman served as the company’s chief financial officer. During that time, Eric was the team leader for the company wide implementation of JD Edwards and overhauled the finance function to improve the department’s efficiency and customer service.

Mr. Hoffman received his B.S.B.A. in Accounting from John Carroll University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Eric volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and is an avid golfer and fisherman.

Jason M. Shapiro, CFA, CPA, J.D.
Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy


Jason Shapiro is a proven leader with over 10 years of extensive financial, private equity, turnaround, and restructuring experience across regional and global firms in diverse industries and in various states of financial health. He achieved honors at all schools with multiple valedictorian, summa cum laude, and scholarship awards. Prior to joining Iron Eagle Group, Mr. Shapiro was Vice President of Macquarie Capital Fund, Macquarie Group’s Private Equity Group. Macquarie Group is an Australian listed firm with $200+ billion of assets under management. Mr. Shapiro’s was responsible for 1) asset management where he actively worked with portfolio companies and key stakeholders to maximize returns and 2) new investments including deal origination, execution, and managing post-acquisition. Prior to Macquarie, Mr. Shapiro was a Associate Director at UBS Investment Bank, where he executed $15+ billion in transactions including dozens of Lead Managed equity offerings, debt financings, and advisory assignments. While at UBS, Mr. Shapiro became the youngest investment banking associate on Wall Street. Mr. Shapiro also served as a legal intern for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.

Jason earned his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s The Wharton School. Jason earned his J.D from the Seton Hall University School of Law where he was in the Full Scholarship and Presidential Honors Program and completed all his law courses in under two years. Jason graduated as the Valedictorian and Summa Cum Laude from Zicklin School of Business’s Baruch College where he earned his M.S. in Accountancy. Jason was the Valedictorian of Rutgers College where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and completed his studies in three years with a B.S. in Computer Science. Jason also taught at Rutgers as a Calculus Instructor. In addition, he was in several honors programs and received numerous departmental and collegiate awards.

Mr. Shapiro also has earned the following certifications: CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CIRA (Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor). CDBV (Certification in Distressed Business Valuation), CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CFF (Certified in Financial Forensics), PMP (Project Management Professional), PMI-RMP (Risk Management Professional), CLSSBB (Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt). He has also passed the NY and NJ Bar exams and expects to soon be licensed in both states.

Jason enjoys fitness and has completed the NYC Marathon and NYC Triathlon, hiked to Everest Base Camp, is a licensed Instrument Pilot, a PADI Certified Advanced Scuba Diver, a global traveler having explored all 7 continents and over 75 countries, and loves to read.
